What should we look for in a wedding minister?
Amazingly, anyone can get licensed on the internet and start performing wedding ceremonies within a few days! So it's important you find someone who has years of experience and works full-time in a church or ministry. But don't forget...it is important that you find a minister that you can relate to, that you feel comfortable with, and that seems genuinely interested in you as a person. Find the right minister for your special day!
What qualifications do you have?
We are all full-time ministers--ordained by churches of 10,000+ members. We each have years of experience working with single adults, engaged couples, and married adults. Our focus is on building strong relationships for a lifetime together.
How do we schedule you to perform our wedding ceremony?
We would be honored to be part of your special day. To schedule your wedding, go to the "Schedule Your Wedding Minister" page on the right sidebar or call (832) 868-0883. After checking our calendar, we will respond to you quickly. Also, in fairness to other brides and grooms, wedding dates are only reserved with a deposit--we cannot hold a date without a deposit. So once you hear back from us, please be prepared to reserve your date.
Can we meet you before scheduling our wedding with you?
Absolutely. A getting-to-know-you meeting is free and available by appointment.
What will you wear to perform our ceremony?
We wear a simple dark suit, helping keep the focus on the bride and groom. If you prefer that we wear more formal or less formal attire, simply let us know in advance.
How long will the ceremony last?
Our portion of the ceremony will last 20-25 minutes. The length of the ceremony will depend on your desire to have Scripture readings, songs, unity candle, etc.
Can we write our vows?
Absolutely. Just let us know in advance.
What vows do you normally use?
Our ceremony includes three different vows or spoken commitments:
Response Vows:
Groom, do you take this woman to be your wedded wife, to live together after God's ordinance, in the holy estate of matrimony? Do you promise to love her, comfort her, honor and keep her in sickness and in health; and forsaking all others to keep yourself only unto her, so long as you both shall live? (I DO)
Bride, do you take this man to be your wedded husband, to live together after God's ordinance, in the holy estate of matrimony? Do you promise to love him, comfort him, honor and keep him in sickness and in health; and forsaking all others to keep yourself only unto him, so long as you both shall live? (I DO)
Wedding Vows:
I, Groom, take thee, Bride, to be my wedded wife / to have and to hold from this day forward / for better or for worse / for richer or for poorer / in sickness and in health / to love and to cherish 'til death do us part. / According to God's Word / I pledge thee my love.
I, Bride, take thee, Groom, to be my wedded husband / to have and to hold from this day forward / for better or for worse / for richer or for poorer / in sickness and in health / to love and to cherish 'til death do us part. / According to God's Word / I pledge thee my love.
Ring Vows:
With this ring I thee wed / and I give to you my love/ in the name of the Father / and of the Son / and of the Holy Spirit.
What are our options for the wedding rehearsal?
For most couples, it makes sense to have a brief rehearsal 60 minutes before your actual wedding ceremony begins. (This is included in the fee for the wedding ceremony.) Since I will have a script of all elements of your ceremony with me throughout your wedding service, the ceremony will run smoothly without a rehearsal the night before. I will show all participants of the ceremony what to do during the brief rehearsal one hour before the actual wedding ceremony. This also saves the wedding couple the cost of paying additional fees to have the Pastor and musicians travel to the ceremony location two times. However, some couple will choose to have a rehearsal the evening before the ceremony. I will gladly provide easy-to-follow instructions to the person organizing the rehearsal. If the wedding couple wants me to lead a rehearsal the evening before the ceremony, arrangements can usually be made.
What is the outline of the wedding ceremonies you perform?
Each wedding ceremony is unique, reflecting the desires of the bride and groom. However, you'll find a sample document by clicking on "Wedding Planning Packet" at the top right of this page. This will give you a general idea of a typical wedding ceremony.
